They say there is nothing sexier than a pair of sultry smoky eyes, smoky eyes done so right that they can cause a man to stop dead in his tracks.
But - do you know how to create such a perfect set of smoky eyes?
What you need to get started:
Eye Primer
Loose powder
Dark Eyeshadow
Medium - grey eyeshadow
Black Mascara
Magic Lash Eyelash Enhancer
Now the idea is to be able have smoky eyes, yet not look so much like you forgot to take your eye makeupoff last night. Even though, that has been known as a turn on for a quite lot of men makes them wonder what you been up. To start creating the look you must have a base for it.
This helps to keep the color in one place. Smooth on a eyeshadow primer, some say foundation is good to use as long as its color doesn't take away from what you aretrying to achieve. Now pat on loose powder setting the base. The real secret to the smoky look is in the color eyeshadow you use.
Tips: If your eyes are blue and you're blond, then go for greensinstead, the darker the better. If your eyes are green then go for blues again the darkest shades of blues you like. If your eyes are brown then you are just plain lucky with your choices of colors. Brown eyed ladies can try any colors you like.
Now purple eyeshadow is a color that everyone can try. Just try it in Plum, Berry and others like those.
Rim your eyes with a black or grey pencil drawing a line along both upper and lower lash line. Starting from inner corner of your eyes going outward starting a fine line going into a heavier line as you draw outwards the outer corner.
If black or grey seems too harsh for the look you're goingfor, then try either dark brown, plum or taupe instead.
Apply a medium - grey eyeshadow all over your lids, stopping at the crease. Apply your dark eyeshadow into the crease, then take a angled brush and apply the dark eyeshadow onto the eyelinerand then smudge it well with a cotton swab keeping as much of the color at the outer corner of your eyes. The angledbrush is great for getting eyeshadow up under your lashes on the bottom which in turn helps keep your eyeliner in place. It's the smudging that has got to be done carefully.
The idea is to blend the eyeshadow and eyeliner together. If you wanted a more "feline" aka cat eyes then using a liquid eyeliner would be best.
Helping to contrast the darkness of your eyeshadow, sweep a pearlized ivory eyeshadow over your brow bones for a wide-eyed look. By applying a little at a time, you are building up the effort gradually till you like what you see.Finishing off the look with one coat of black mascara, one coat of Magic Lash if you want super long, lush lashes to go along with this look, then one more coat of black mascara.
Dark colors trend to make small eyes look even smaller, you can open them up by lining the rims from theinner to the center with a light-colored pencil, rather than dark pencil, pat on pale eyeshadow on the center of each lid. That should cause the small eyes to seem bigger.
For the rest of this ideal look. Finish off by using a tawny blusher or a bronzing powder. Its natural color won't complete with the rest of your makeup. Sweep it over your cheekbone, blending awayto the edges into your hairline.Keeping your lips neutral gives this look its real impact.
Go for a pinkish - beige shade of lip penciland smudge it over your entire mouth for a matte, I justed been kissed yet very understated effect. Now your eyesare ready for whatever you might have planned. This look can be toned down for work but who would want to?

Eyeliner Tips & Tricks
By learning how to use eyeliner properly, you could enhance smaller eyes, decrease larger eyes and create endless amounts of different looks for every occasion you have coming up in your future. It can be hard to imagine for many women that there is actually a technique to using eyeliner but when used correctly you can be sure to create the look of celebrities.
You want to find a happy medium between a casual eyeliner addition to your face and looking like a very high maintenance woman who cannot leave the house without a face full of makeup. Eyeliner is meant to enhance your eyes in a subtle way, when overused you are creating a look that may be more severe than you intend. To achieve the everyday look that women want for going to work or running errands, it is important to not only apply the eyeliner with a light hand but to choose a lighter shade of eyeliner rather than black or kohl. For many people these shades are far too dark and no matter how light you try to apply them, they always look too severe on many complexions.
The smoky eye is a very popular this year and although it does portray a darker image, it can still be accomplished even if you have a lighter complexion. First the key is to buy the eyeliner that offers the blending brush on the opposite end. This is the key component to achieving this look with very little effort. First you need to start from the inside corner of your eye and work your way outward, trying to make the center of the eyelid the thickest. Then take the other end of your eyeliner (the blender) or use a cotton swab to smudge the eyeliner you just created. Layering the liner with a light layer of eye shadow is the key to the smoky eye.
If you are looking for a bolder look, no matter what your complexion you buy a darker eyeliner color and instead of stopping the line ¾ of the way across the lid, going all the way across from the inside corner to the outside corner can create the dramatic look you are looking for that special night on the town. By combining this dramatic eyeliner technique with the smoky grey or black eye shadow across the liner you added as the crease of your eye lid you have created a simple and dramatic look for any event.
One of the most important factors of using your eyeliner correctly is to make sure that you are using a high quality product. You will not achieve any of these eyeliner techniques by using cheap eyeliner. By choosing brands like Maybelline, CoverGirl, Loreal Paris and Lancome, you can count on the high quality you need to make your new eye look last all day and all night. Although you will find that these products cost a bit more than others, it is more than worth it in the long run.
Take note of these great eyeliner techniques as you can create the look of celebrities in just a few short minutes right from your home. You will be amazed just how much better your makeup will look when you apply these simple techniques. Right now you may think there is nothing wrong with your eye makeup but by taking the chance on these new techniques you may be surprised just how much better you look. Invest in some great eye shadow and brushes to make sure you have the tools to create the looks listed above and the many popular trends of 2008.

Top Eye Makeup Trends For Fall 2008
Updating your eye makeup collection - trying new shades of eyeshadow, adding some drama with lash-plumping mascara or even applying eyeliner differently to create a smokey effect - is a great way to capture some of the season's latest trends. Fall 2008 makeup trends call for futuristic looks and Old Hollywood-inspired glam.
Ready to give your eye makeup collection a seasonal makeover? Here are some of the leading trends for eye makeup this Fall 2008
Eye Makeup Trend for Fall 2008: Dramatic Pastels
Pastel blues, greens and pinks come alive this Fall thanks to complementary silver and gold metallics for the eyes. It's the season to try your hand at a futuristic look by pairing up brighter colors against a neutral eyeshadow base. Dress it up with some glittery eyeshadow for a fashion forward look this season.
Fall 2008 Makeup Trend: Thick Brows
Frame your upper face and eyes with super-thick brows, a dramatic change from the finer, over-tweezed brows of seasons past. Thick brows can be achieved with a light dusting of brow powder and setting gel, so make sure you sculpt and tweeze only a few hairs to achieve the look.
Eye Makeup Trend for Fall 2008: Shimmering Gold
Add a touch of gold to the eyelids and lower brow can turn your basic look into one with a glamorous edge. Gold-based eyeshadow is a great way to brighten up brown and hazel-colored eyes, but can also warm up other eye colors and different skin tones.
Fall 2008 Makeup Trend: Crisp and Chic Eyeliner
Unless you're trying to create the smokey-eye look this season, aim for super-thin lines when applying eyeliner. Asian-inspired eyeliner is one of the top beauty trends for the season, and you can create that Geisha look with a Kajal pencil, dark brown or navy liner.
