Makeup Techniques - Some Easy Tips

Interested in learning about makeup but don't know where to look? Learning some simple makeup techniques, particularly how to apply eye makeup, is something that can boost your self esteem and help you to create exactly the look you desire. Read below for a few easy tips for makeup application.

The 1st place you will want to investigate in order to create larger, adventurous, and more dramatic eyes is to your eyeliner. Eyeliner can be the solution to your small eye blues, but only if you use the proven procedures. First of all, you will want to line the entire top lash line and then pull out that line a little bit at the corners of your eye. If you prefer, you can also line the bottoms of your eyes, but just concentrate color only on the outside third of the eye and extend it just slightly past the edge. Don't be too melodramatic. Just a slight line beyond the outside edge will be just enough. Keep in mind that a soft and smoky look will open your eyes up much more than thin hard lines of liner will. Utilize dark and neutral colors with just a little hint of black for lining, since bright shades are what will make your eyes look even smaller.

The other spot to focus your eye enlargement process is your lashes. Eyelashes are a stunning eye opener. Before you put on mascara, you can curl your lashes 3 times: once at the base, another half way up, and a 3rd time at the tip. This will help produce a feminine, rounded curl of your eyelashes. Then, as you use your mascara, take care to spread out your lashes as you go. Do so by brushing the inner 1/3 of your lashes toward your nose. Pull the middle 1/3 straight out. Then, take the outmost 1/3 of your lashes and brush them toward your temples. By enhancing your eyelashes in this manner, you will be able to draw attention to your eyes and help them to project. The more they stand out, the more prominent they will look.

Most hot tips for makeup application will direct you to your eye shadow. Take your time when doing so, however. Though it is a commonly held notion, dramatic eye shadow does not make your eyes stand out. As a matter of fact, it will do just the opposite. Too much dark eye shadow will cause your eyes to appear smaller by shading them back into your face. If you do have small eyes, you will want to keep eye shadow extremely simple. Use only light-colored shadows first of all. Secondly, never don more than two shades at one time. Remember, simpleness will be your friend here. Brush a light, delicate base color from your lashes to your brow. Next, use a slightly darker color to create just a elusive definition in your eyelid's crease. By keeping your shadow simple and understated, you can enhance your eyes and avoid hiding them on your face.

Next, a way to bring out your eyes is to work on the area around them. For example, dark circles will make your eyes seem smaller than they are. If you have obvious circles around your eyes, they can even make your eyes look hollow. To fix the problem, use a concealer that is just slightly lighter in the dark circle areas. You will be able to enhance your eyes by using these easy makeup techniques, freeing yourself of the unsightly circles.

Also, think about the shape of your eyebrows when trying to enhance your eyes. Your eyes will seem more diminished and closer together if you have brows that are too close together or dark. To help expand your eyes and open them, tweeze your eyebrows further out than you might normally. If possible, it is preferable to get your eyebrows approximately an eye length apart if you can.

Big eyes may be a blessing, but small eyes are not a curse. By simply understanding where to focus your efforts, you will make small eyes pop and look beautiful. Practice your makeup techniques, minding the skin around your eyes and you will learn that opening and elaborating your eyes is effortless and even a little bit fun.

With these secrets for makeup application, you will be able to heighten your natural beauty, applying these same makeup formulas that any professional makeup artist would use. Remember that the eyes are your most significant feature, so use forethought when selecting colors and cosmetics. These makeup tips don't cost a million bucks, but you will feel like a million after you set about applying makeup like a pro!

In today’s busy world many women are finding it hard, to have the time to look their best, but they must still look professional and make-up does make a big difference. But, how you can find the time to apply your makeup, cook breakfast, send your husband off to work, get the kids off to school and drop some off at daycare. This is not an easy feat for most women. But, I believe this makeup application tip will aid you in getting yourself ready and still be able to handle what ever is on your plate for the day.

First, a beauty makeup tip would be to purchase these items, a good moisturizer, and an easy to apply foundation, eye shadow, eye concealer, blush, and mascara. That’s it. Do not go over board on your beauty routine during the times you have to rush off to work.

Now, for the quick makeup application tip. First, if you can do without foundation, skip it. Do not forget the moisturizer; your skin needs the extra moisture. If you cannot do without the foundation, the quickest way to apply the foundation is to dot your forehead, chin, nose and cheeks. Now, with a sponge or a tad damp cloth smooth the foundation until it is blended completely on your face. Pay close to attention to your hairline, chin and jaw line. Applying the foundation will take the longest. Always remember to smooth upward, when you rub downward, you are only helping those wrinkles find their way.

The next beauty makeup tip is to use only one color eye shadow. You are not trying to win a beauty contest or become the next diva. Remember you desire to look your best in the shortest amount of time. The best eye makeup tip is to check and see if you have dark circles, they do appear from time to time and then you must apply an eye concealer, if not skip this step. Only use it when you have to, this will save you plenty of time and could be the best beauty makeup tip of all for those of us in a hurry.

Next, for your eye makeup tip, apply a small amount of eye shadow on the eyelid only, use the eye shadow as an eyeliner, and run the applicator under your bottom eyelashes. Add just a bit of mascara to your eyelashes. There the eyes are finished.

The next beauty makeup tip is to apply just a bit of blush on your cheekbones and brush toward your ears. Apply a tad of lipstick and you are out the door and ready for anything.

If you use these makeup application tips every day when you are in a hurry you should be able to completely apply all the makeup in about 5 minutes. Now that is one great beauty makeup tip that every women on the go will be happy to know about.

Aging In Lips

I didn't group lip aging as one of the common lip problems as it is subtle and forms a part of total aging in our body, be it prematurely or naturally. Premature aging in lips are often overlooked despite the fact that lips age in a faster pace than any parts of the skin.

Look at the appearance of lips, how thin and vulnerable they are! Once they are exposed to sunlight, stress, foods contributing to free radical formation, nicotine and other oxidizing agent besides genetic factor, collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid and other natural substances found in lip skin tend to diminish.

As a result, lip lines and wrinkles are formed, the Cupid's Bow begins to flatten out, the mouth looked frown, lip gets thinner or losing its volume and the once young and vibrant full lips would end up in our memory lane.

While certain causes of lip aging are unavoidable, we could do something to prevent the preventables and rejuvenate the lips with scientifically proved approaches or even have a cosmetic makeover on the aged lips.

To prevent lip aging:

Avoid sunbathing and wear lip balm or lipsticks with sunscreen under the sun.

Don't get yourself overworked and have not less than 6 hours sleep.

Go to bed before 11pm if possible.

Do not use oxidant rich or expired lipsticks and other lip products

Avoid fried, overcooked and canned foods.

Take anti-aging supplements or herbal preparantions.

Cut down coffee and tea.

Stop smoking.

To rejuvenate your lips:

Apply topical lip treatments rich in anti-oxidants such as Vitamin A, C, E and selenium.

Use rejuvenating home remedies such as honey and olive oil as lip nourishment.

Have regular lip exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and promote growth of new cells.

Regular lip mask, ya, lip skin needs nourishment to stay young!

To reform your lips:

Try professional lip wrinkles treatment such as Botox, chemical peel, laser resurfacing etc.

Celebrity Beauty Secrets Revealed

Sure, it's their job to look good and they have plenty of help achieving their beauty goals but that doesn't mean the rest of us can't look as good as our favorite celebrities.

One tip celebrities learn early on is that beauty is achieved from the inside out and prevention is key. Going under the knife these days draws as much scrutiny as a bad beach photo showing dimpled thighs and belly fat. Celebrities are simply supposed to look fabulous but without showing the obvious signs of how they achieved the results. But we all know that nothing happens by magic.

We've asked celebrity makeup artists, skincare specialists, nutritionists, doctors and other professionals that work with today's hottest celebrities to share some of the secrets to treating common skin complaints and achieving younger looking, radiant skin at any age.

Protect Skin from the Environment

Stars like Kate Hudson know that protecting their skin from harsh UV rays and environmental irritants helps to preserve the skin's precious collagen reserves. Kate is a fan of Juice Beauty Green Apple Antioxidant Serum.

Actress Cate Blanchett turns to N.V. Perricone Olive Oil Polyphenols Nutrient Face Fortifier (Whew! What a name!) to keep her skin protected with antioxidant packed polyphenols, which also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Super Hydration

It's all about the dewy complexion in Hollywood. So if you're skin is as dry as sandpaper, you'd better get to hydrating (dry skin is more prone to fine lines, making you look older). Debra Messing always seems to pull off the quenched look. Try a dollop of Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Serum to lock in moisture (plus the Vitamin A fights the signs of aging).

Ivanka Trump gets her Springtime glow from SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque. Sure, she's already young but infusing her skin with youth-boosting hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 can keep her looking as young as she feels. Model-turned-actress Molly Sims moisturizes with Dr. Brandt contour effect moisturizing cream, which plumps up the skin by drenching it with moisture-and moisture is our friend.

Dark Circles

Katherine Heigl relies on Hylexin to stop undereye circles and puffiness in their tracks. The ingredients in Hylexin reinforce capillaries that deposit blood in the undereye area creating those persistent dark circles. So say goodbye to raccoon eyes and hello sexy!

Ashunta Sheriff, exclusive makeup artist to Alicia Keys, offers this advice for making tired eyes look brighter and more rested, "Concealer will definitely take away the appearance of dark circles. Also, even though this skincare line is targeted for men, I've used Morning After Rescue Remedy Gel by Nickel. With caffeine, cucumber and other vital ingredients for under eye skin, it perks eyes up quickly and makes them look refreshed."

Adult Acne

Yes, even supermodels get pimples. Earlier this year supermodel Gisele Bundchen was asked what beauty tricks she's picked up over the years and responded by saying, "I had a really horrible pimple on my nose, and a makeup artist gave me Nelsons Acne Gel. I kept putting it on, and my pimple went away. I was like, this is great. It doesn't burn your skin."

Statistics suggest that roughly 85% of the American population have a problem with acne. The Nelsons homeopathic acne gel actually works and contains no artificial colors, artificial fragrances, or animal products and it is not tested on animals. It's made from natural ingredients like extracts of organically grown hypericum perforatum, calendula, and arnica.

Now that you are armed with all of this beauty advice, your favorite celebrity will have some new competition!

My Blushing Hot Makeup Pick From Lancome

I have been freelancing for Lancome for a while. I had Pro Training with Ross Burton who is the Creative Director of Lancome. I enjoy working with the line and working with the products. Well, one of the great things about freelancing is you get to experiment with different products and see what works and what does not, which products you like and the ones you can throw out. Well during this time, I found my number one blush of all time. I absolutely LOVE this blush, I think any woman should have in their makeup case. It is just splendid.

My favorite product by Lancome and favorite blush of all time is Magique Blush, in the color Subtle Fluff. I think the thing I love so much about this blush is it is so light, it just sits really nicely on the cheek, and gives the skin a beautiful radiant glow. This color gives you a hint of color and looks great with most skin tones. My only suggesting if you have really bad acne, don't use this blush it tends to cause the skin to flake. If you have a darker skin tone, I suggest using one with an orange shade. The blush comes in a small pot, and it is whipped into a mousse texture. You can apply with your fingers or a brush. I like to apply it with a foundation brush. If you want more coverage, use the Magique Blush first and then apply your favorite blush on top for longer lasting coverage. I like to use Nars Orgasm blush on top. It is available in 7 colorful shades from a light pink to a shimmery brown. The product made with jojoba wax and pearls with a silicone base.

Ladies this is a must have in your makeup case. Don't forget to buy a foundation brush if you don't already have one. Several companies make good foundation brushes. Magique Blush costs $28.50 and you can find at department stores or online at lancome.com Orgasm blush by Nars you can find at major department stores or online at narscomsetics.com or sephora.com

Makeup Tips To Conceal Acne

While acne medication may promise results in just 7 days, you need to put your best face forward TODAY. Fortunately, you don't have to wear a bag over your head. Instead just a few good acne concealing makeup tips will help you look your best wherever you need to go.

Remember -- makeup only conceals acne, it doesn't cure it. While concealing acne with makeup isn't difficult, there are some definite procedures that you should always follow.

Your Basic Tool Kit

There are 3 acne-hiding makeup weapons -- concealer, foundation and finishing powder. Be sure to use only brand names because you don't want to trust your face to cut-rate products.

The key to success here is oil-free makeup, therefore read the labels carefully. You do NOT want to aggravate an existing acne problem by laying another coat of oil on skin that already has too much. Choose products that match your skin tone, and stick to those labeled hypoallergenic.

Before using any new product, it's important to test the makeup by applying a small dab under your jaw to see if your skin reacts negatively. You'll know in about an hour if there is a problem. You certainly don't want to add more blotches to an already colorful face.

Before You Begin

Wash your face using a normal face cleansing product. Completely pat your face dry, apply your acne medication, and then let your face thoroughly air dry.

The Concealer

With a light dabbing motion, apply the concealer directly to any acne blotches on your skin. Blend in the concealer using a disposable sponge. Use the concealer sparingly -- if applied too thickly, it will look terrible when it dries. You can always apply more later, if needed.

The Foundation

Use a light dabbing motion in applying the foundation. As with your concealer, use the foundation sparingly. With a sponge, blend the foundation and then reapply it if needed.

The Final Touch

Use a large makeup brush to apply a light layer of oil-free powder to take care of any shine that the acne concealer and foundation have left behind. It will also give your face an even and finished look.

Don't forget to throw away those disposable sponges when you are through, so that you don't transfer yesterday's skin oil to tomorrow's clean face!

Before You Go To Bed

It is best if you can remove your makeup as soon as you return home from school or work. You want your skin to breathe and your acne to get as much fresh air as possible.

Finally, before you go to bed wash your face thoroughly to remove every last trace of makeup. A thoroughly clean face will maximize the healing power of your sleep.

Nail Color And Top Coat For Assembling A Nail Tool Kit

For many people, nail color - also called nail polish, nail paint, nail lacquer, and nail varnish - is what manicured nails are a about. Nail color is fun, it's sexy, it's eye-catching and, if you choose trendy seasonal colors, it can be a cheap way to upda your overall look. Although there are perhaps a hundred different companies that manufacture nail polish, most of it is pretty much the same. Sure, some brands are thinner, some thicker, some more quickly than others, or wear better. Some companies in nail hardeners in their products, while other nail colors omit irritants such as formaldehyde and toluene.

There are numerous types of nail colors to choose between. Onecoat formulas feature a concentrated amount of pigment, which gives you full coverage in one coat.

A polish with an opaque, high-gloss, non-sparkly finish is often referred to as a cream or gloss color.

Frost colors or pearl colors are another alternative. They come in a variety of gorgeous pearlescent shades and are formulated with ingredients such as iron oxides or mica to create a frosty finish. Nail glitters are colored or clear polishes formulated with a generous amount of colored glitter for a fun, fleck-toned finish - perfect for special occasions.

Top coat

Top coats are a type of clear polish designed to protect nail color from the chipping, flaking, and peeling that comes with wear. They are similar to base coats, but most dry faster and feature a glossier finish. Standard issue top coats form a barrier that protects your manicure from chips and other "contact injuries." To keep a manicure fresh- looking and long-wearing, many nail technicians suggest painting on a fresh layer of top coat every day or every other day.

Alternatively, fast-dry or quick-dry top coats are designed to help rapidly dry the nail polish below. Within 2 minutes of painting on a fast-dry top coat, your manicure should be dry to the touch; within 7 to 12 minutes, the manicure should be completely (or near-completely) dry. UV-protective top coats that contain a sunscreen are also available - these protect nail color from the shade-changing effects of sunlight.

Mascara Building 101 For Your Eyelids!

Ladies, did you know that there are three different types of mascara? Whenever you go into the drug or grocery store, it can sometimes be a daunting task when shopping at the makeup counter or aisle. Have you ended up confused most of the time and bought something you really didn't want or like? There are many different types of mascara and there is definitely a difference. You will find one for lengthening, one for thickening, one for curling or a non-smudge type. So finding your best mascara can be a challenge.

It doesn't matter which type of mascara you purchase, they are loaded with waxes and proteins along with many confusing formulations that are all designed to condition your lashes. To begin with, one of the best mascaras on the market is a product called Lancome's Definicils. It is considered to be a lengthening mascara and works well. Complete with dense bristles that allow you to get more mascara on your lashes and a special touch-up brush to do the tips of your lashes, it works very well. The next type of product is called a thickening mascara. This product will give you an excellent thickening touch and contains an even thicker formula of waxes and silicone polymers that coat your lashes and make them appear bulkier and more beautiful.

Finding your best mascara can be challenging, but adhering to a few of these basic products and ideas will go a long way. Finally, there is a waterproof one that works well and is a non-smudging product containing synthetic formulas meant to repel moisture. Unfortunately, this type of product can be harsh on your lashes, but you can prevent breaking them by putting a little vaseline on them before you go to sleep. One of the best waterproof mascaras on the market is made by Maybelline. You can also purchase a non-clumping mascara that contains ingredients such as glycerin and silk extract. This product comes with a longer wand that allows for easier application.

Lips Care

We tend to focus on improving our skin condition and complexion by using proper skin care products and follow our daily skin care regime. And yet, we never seems to care so much about our lip, neck and other parts of our body.

Talking about the lip area, the delicate area where lipsticks are applied onto it quite often or even daily to enhance your beauty. Some of you have a thick lip, some will have thin lip. The lip area is so delicate and sensitive that, the appearance of vertical lines and dull texture around the lip and in the lip area, are signs of aging without proper care. As you age, your lip becomes hyper sensitive and prone to dryness, lip crack, chapped and flaky, which may cause pain and discomfort when talking or eating.

Several factors which causes lip dryness, lip crack, lip chapped, lip peeling or irritation include changes of season, climate and weather, using the wrong types of lipsticks or lip liner, insufficient moisturizing, food allergies, poor circulation result in dull appearance, and environment pollution.

Use a moisturizing lip balm to repair your delicate lip area from time to time. If you have to use a lipstick, try to use a moisturizing lip stick, and add a thin layer of lip balm formulated with sun protection properties.

There are many types of lip balm which you can choose to protect your lips according to your lip condition – from a cream type for very dry and severe condition, moisturizing gel type for daily use, 2-in-1 lipstick and balm formula which is very convenient, to an easy to carry stick type. If you run out of a lip balm during emergency, quickly pick a natural based face moisturizer, apply a thin layer on your lip gently for temporary use. Or another way is,if you take vitamin E at home, break one vitamin E capsule and massage onto your lip, then leave it overnight.

A soothing lip balm contains gentle and mild ingredient, suitable for everyone of all ages, including children who suffer from sensitive lip problems such as chapped, flaky lips. However, as for very young children and babies, it is advisable to use a petroleum jelly to soothe and repair chapped and flaky lip, avoid using lip balms which are recommended for adults unless it is stated.

In order to slow down lip aging, try a simple solution to soften and visibly reduce the appearance of vertical lip lines and lip dehydration. You may do it at the same time with your DIY facial and eye treatment or on its own. Let us call this a DIY lip treatment.

Just remember, once a weekly only – cleanse, exfoliate, repair and moisturize your lip to feel the difference and delay lip aging. You will look great.

Formal Eye Makeup Tips

Formal eye makeup tips will allow you to look glamorous no matter if you are heading out for the biggest night of your life or if you are just hanging out with friends. To look glamorous, you need to know just how to apply makeup correctly, to achieve the desired, finished look. Learning how to put on eye makeup does not have to be a difficult process either. Here are several key steps to make your wedding or prom pictures truly amazing.

Pick A Look

Your first course of action is to pick a celebrity or look that you are after to mimic. Eye makeup ideas are hard to come up with on your own, but there are plenty of models out there for you to mimic. This is an eye makeup trick; mimic someone else’s look. How will you know who to select? Choose someone that has the same skin tone and hair color as you. Check out what makeup products they are using too.

Pick A Feature

A huge mistake that many people make when it comes to formal make up is that they try to make each of their facial features a focal point. Choose either your eyes or your lips and then apply makeup to enhance that features. The makeup you use in the other area should be more subtle. Select the area of your face that is where you get the most compliments.

No Foundation?

Another formal eye make up trick is to skip the foundation but to use a concealer for blemishes. How does this affect your eye makeup? First off, those that are young are likely to have beautiful, glowing skin with no need for heavy foundations. For your eye makeup, allowing your natural skin tones to come through will allow your eyes to be more set off from the rest of your face. Less makeup everywhere else helps your eyes to stand out.

For bridal makeup, consider more natural and soft tones. The white of a wedding dress makes your skin darker looking. Less is more here. For proms and a night out on the town, look to more drastic and deep color combinations in your eye makeup. Do this to create an alluring look with your eyes.

Formal eye makeup tips like these can be easy to apply any day or night that you are planning out. You can get amazing eye makeup ideas from celebrities by paging through the web or watching Red Carpet footage. The bottom line is to find an amazing look that allows only your eyes to stand out. Eye makeup techniques like these are easy to learn. Practice makes perfect! For a formal look, enhance your eyes.
